Day of the surgery. We took Poutine to the clinic at 8:00 a.m. My husband stayed in the car and did not go into the clinic with me because he was too distraught about the surgery. Dr. Sereda came out and told me he will operate on Poutine at 9:00 a.m. and will call us when the surgery is over. Poutine had to stay overnight at the clinic for observation.
Later that morning, my husband was anxious and called the clinic at 12 noon. The nurse said Poutine is not awake yet. At 12:30 p.m. the doctor called and said the operation went well. The luxation on his left knee (the good leg) was actually quite bad, so it was a good thing that we decided to have them both done at the same time.
My husband called the clinic later in the afternoon and the nurse said Poutine is doing fine. We have to call the clinic at 9:30 tomorrow morning to check when we could take Poutine home.
We missed Poutine all day and missed having him in our bed at night. Migo, our other Chihuahua was a bit sad as well.
